PayPal payments and subscriptions. How it work and how to avoid duplicated payments with it?  Print this Article

When the system generate an invoice for a recurring product or service you will see the PayPal Subscribe button.
This allow you to subscribe so that your payment for that product or service is sent to us automatically each period (month, etc.) and automatically applied to the invoice.

The subscribe button will only show on or before the due date of the invoice. This is to prevent you signing up for a subscription late as then the invoice would be paid late every period (month, etc.).

If the product do not allow a subscription or you pay after the invoice due date then you will see the Paypal Checkout button, which will only let you pay that specific invoice without creating any subscription for future payments.

To avoid any duplicated payment, before proceed to pay and create a subscription, make sure the service or product you are paying do not have an active PayPal subscription already which means you have created a subscription for this product or service before.
If you have an active subscription for the service or product just do nothing as the PayPal system will take care of it automatically.
