This is a quick guide about the default configuration information for an email client.

The following is the default format used in an email account configuration.

Username is always the complete email address, for example: john@yourdomain.com

Password, is the password you have used creating the email account in your hosting panel.

The following apply to our Shared cPanel Hosting services.

POP3 (non secure connection)

Server: mail.yourdomain.com
Port: 110
Connection security: none
Authetication method: normal password

sPOP3 (secure connection)
---------
Server: server.ourserverhostname.net *
Port: 995
Connection security: STARTTLS
Authetication method: normal password or TLS certificate

* To avoid SSL certificate warnings you have to use the server hostname unless your hosting package include SSL for  all your domains , you can find the hostname  information in your client area --> Services --> My Services --> View Details section of your web hosting account. Or you can also use mail.yourdomain.com and accept the certificate warnings.

IMAP4 (non secure connection)
---------
Server: mail.yourdomain.com
Port 143
Connection security: none or STARTTLS
Authentication method: normal password or TLS certificate

sIMAP4 (secure connection)
----------
Server: server.ourserverhostname.net *
Port 993
Connection security: STARTTLS
Authentication method: normal password or TLS certificate

sSMTP (secure connection)

Port: 465 (SSL/TLS)
Connection security: SSL/TLS.
Authetication method: normal password

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SMTP AUTHENTICATION ENABLED OR THE SERVER WILL NOT LET YOU SEND EMAILS
